Authentication via NTLMv2

Previous  Top  Next

Attention!

Since SE Suite version 2.0.10, SE Suite is no longer compatible with SSO NTLMv2, and this authentication has been discontinued since version 2.1.7.

NTLMv2 authentication without SSO can continue to be used as always.

The NTLM v2 (NT LAN Manager) authentication type uses the "Domain Address" and "NTLM Port" fields that are entered in the domain configuration (SE Configuration arrowrgray Authentication (CM008) arrowrgray Directory integration arrowrgray Domains section) to connect the domain and authenticate it using the provided user and password on the login screen of the system.

The basis of this authentication protocol is the (SMB) Server Message Block protocol and it is necessary to ensure that the SE Suite server has access to this address on the port informed or on the default port used by the protocol (445), since the connection is part of the server system and not of the client machine.

The connection test of the domain ensures communication using NTLM v2 and can be used to check for possible configuration errors for this authentication mode.

NTLM v2 authentication mode is not recommended performing authentication in situations where the SE Suite server is outside the local domain because it does not provide the desired security and performance for this environment type.
