The license type varies according to your needs. For example, if a user with a STAFF is used as a web service user, they will not be able to create new users through the adm_ws service, since this is a feature that requires a license with more permissions.

 
hmtoggle_arrow1Can i consume a webservice using a logged user?

Yes, as long as the license allows it.

 
hmtoggle_arrow1What is the real difference between a "regular" user session and a web service?

The basic difference is that, although both consume a license, the web service call does not record a session in the session table. Thus, an access using /apigateway does not compete with other web service calls for the same user, as none of them will record an active session. However, if there is only one simultaneous user in the license and there is another user logged into the suite viewing a portal, for example, the web service calls will return error 403, since there is a user consuming the only truly available section.

 
hmtoggle_arrow1Taking these scenarios into account, what is suggested?

Create a specific user to consume web services.

Leave only one license for this user. This is necessary as in the case of external calls (in which the license is not informed), the suite will take the first license it finds.

Use a permissive license according to your needs (if you wish to start workflows via web service, the license type must support this feature)
