SoftExpert Suite update

Previous  Top  Next

This section covers the steps to update SoftExpert Suite.

First, the SoftExpert Suite installer will check whether the environment meets the update requirements. Because of that, make sure to execute all the Pre-required activities.

If a problem occurs during the update from version 2.1.X to 2.2.X, it will not be possible to remove the system. It will be necessary to finish the update or restore the file backup before removing it.

SoftExpert is not responsible for the database management.

1.Access the installation tool directory, as described in the Update packages preparation topic.

2.Extract the files from the update package and execute the TOOL-2.2.X-WINDOWS.exe file.

3.On the SoftExpert Suite installer welcome screen, click on Next.

4.On the "Operation Type" screen, click on the Update button to update SoftExpert Suite.

5.On the "Select Package" screen, the update tool will identify and automatically choose the update package downloaded in the Preparing the update packages step.

Wait for the tool to automatically validate the package; check the status of this step on the progress bar. Click on Next.

It is important for the update tool and package to be in the same directory for the installer to identify the update files and proceed with the process normally.

6.The "Environment Check" step will request the password for the IIS user used for the suite permissions. Fill out the field with the password and click on Next.

7.The update procedure is executed on the "Performing System Update" screen. Wait for this step to finish and click on Next.

The update process will equalize all the databases configured for SoftExpert Suite. If any error occurs during the database update process, it is necessary to:

Execute sesuite/tools/configurator/run.bat;

Select the database and click on the update button. Execute this item for all the configured databases, if there is more than one.

This step will not be executed in the case of a 4th-digit update.

8.On the SoftExpert Suite update closing screen, click on Finish.

We recommend restarting the services to ensure all information in the PHP cache is reset.

During the SoftExpert Suite service start up, the system will perform a requirement check. If a requirement does not meet the system use, the checker will display a message to indicate the configuration that needs to be solved. Refer to the "Additional procedures arrowrgrayy Troubleshooting arrowrgrayy Requirements check" section, in the Installation Guide, to obtain details on how to troubleshoot the major configuration issues.

ATTENTION

Remove the Access licenses (CD-Keys) from the system whenever their validity expires and/or they are no longer used, leaving only active Access licenses. Such removal is necessary to make it possible to validate and activate the system. Whenever a new access license is generated for a client, the old access licenses are removed from the CRM. If a license that is not in our CRM is used, the system will not be activated.

The SoftExpert Suite activation process occurs after the license key is entered in the SoftExpert Configuration component. Refer to the "SoftExpert Suite - Installation Guide - (Windows)" document in the "Post-installation activities" section for further details.
