Check all the news of SE Suite version 2.0.16 in the following sections:
▪Oracle will close free Java SE support in 2019; thus, to receive the security updates, it will be necessary to acquire license keys. See further information on licensing in the Java SE FAQ. Another alternative is to use the open source version of the Java platform, OpenJDK, in the SE Suite server. The HotSpot version of the AdoptOpenJDK implementation is supported by SE Suite for the server, however, there will still be Java SE dependency if some resources are used, such as the SoftExpert Project Gantt chart, the SoftExpert Document Fileloader (if it is configured to use the Java version instead of .NET). Other resources, such as File Manager Server, used for PDF conversion, SoftExpert Capture services and external controlled directory, still depend on Java SE, but these resources are executed in a server separate from SE Suite. In the SE Suite update to version 2.0.16, in GNU/Linux distributions, the migration to OpenJDK will be performed automatically, whereas, in Windows servers, it will be necessary to perform it manually. Further details are available in the Update Guide (Windows). ▪From the December 2019 version onwards, Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2 and Oracle 11g R1 will no longer be supported by SE Suite. |
